Hello everyone! This here is less about my writing. I have been inundated, as of late, with surgery, doctor appointments and other things. I just wanted to share with you all that I was recently told that I am in remission! This marks the third time in 17 years. Cancer is a word that forever leaves a scar on your mental health, but there is a silver lining in it all. I’ve… Read more »

Congratulations Melissa! Words of wisdom that won’t be taken lightly. I let my family know often, by sending a simple “love you” and 🤗😘 through text! Yes, we need to be kinder to ourselves as well. Stay healthy and happy!

Wonderful news, Melissa! I began my own cancer journey in 2008, and I remember well when I got my first “normal” CA-125 reading. It was the first time in my life that I was thrilled to be normal!! 😊 Even though I’m a passionate musician, I turned to writing instead of music to keep myself together during the months of chemotherapy and the uncertainties of an initially ominous prognosis. Voice… Read more »

Julie, funny you mention ‘inspiration’ because I thought about you the other day! How you’ve been an inspiration to me. Both for your talent as a writer and a musician, but also for your strength dealing with your diagnosis and life after it. Thank you so much for your comment.

So happy to hear your good news, Melissa. I really hope that your remission holds this time. You are so right in what you say about knowing your own body. If in doubt, go and see a doctor. Much better to be safe than sorry. And live life to your fullest capacity, love the little things, care for yourself and those around you. Look after our planet, we have to make things… Read more »

I absolutely agree, Carrie. I feel like I took some things for granted before all this happened. Now, the plan is to live every day to the fullest. The time to make a difference is today.

Why do my friends need to SignIn to read the post I shared?

Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!
