"Hero"
We invite you to write up to 100 words on the theme of “hero”.
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes – Ghandi, Atticus Finch, Wonder Woman, or your fifth grade teacher. They may be universally recognized and admired, or they may be quiet and unassuming.
Heroes give us the best version of ourselves. They possess qualities that we can emulate and work toward. We can also become heroes of our own stories, fictional or otherwise!
For this special event, you may enter fiction or non-fiction. In addition to writing a story, you may write an essay, memoir, or opinion piece, or you may report on a real-life hero. Each submission must be 100 words or less, but you can send as many submissions as you want.
Every submission that passes our basic guidelines will be shortlisted and published, giving each author a chance at our Yearly Grand Prize.
