What’s the Difference Then
Did you watch the ”Time Team” last night Cuthbert?
No Helen, I don’t like speed sports.
It’s not a sports programme, it’s about Archaeology.
What’s that then?
It’s when they excavate an historical site to see what they can reveal about its past; sometimes by the broken pottery they find.
I went to this Greek restaurant once, where they smashed china plates on the floor. I thought what a waste, bringing all those plates from China, just to smash them, do you think? – No Cuthbert they wouldn’t be the same plates.
What’s the difference then?

Well, Eric, you made me laugh out loud! Plus I learned about the Time Team show! Now I’ll have to watch it. Will they break dishes from China, do you think?
Ha, ha, how smart are the Greeks? No washing up Fuji, and what about Plato?- C?uldn’t resist that one
They must have really enjoyed smashing their pottery because they don’t dig up many whole ones ?. Good idea for the prompt!
Thanks Carrie.
hahahahahahaha. Funny, Eric. Of course, the cracked plate of china is different from those excavated and recovered by archaeology. Like Fuji, you also made me laugh and I was researching Time Team, and that was an interesting show.

Just like other readers, I went to Google and watched a video from a Greek wedding where they smashed china and then danced on top of the pieces. My spontaneous reaction was, “Wouldn’t it be better to use paper plates? It would be less expensive and it would save the floor, the shoes and the feet.”
Ha, ha – Christer, sometimes things don’t have to make sense – it’s the atmosphere that is generated – so many ways to be happy!
This one had me smiling Eric. Of course plates come from China, I thought everyone knew that! ? . Great dialogue.
Linda, I have given up on the the word Sensible, after listening to some of the answers on Quiz shows ?. Then I guess we are all capable of the ridiculous….I remember on my first visit to Australia, and seeing a picture of a speed pump that looked (to me) like the image of a giant snail (ha, ha, ha). I’m laughing because I still don’t believe I said it! And much to the amusement of my Australian friends in the car, I asked – Is this a snail crossing? Do you think my friends will ever let me forget? Of course I tried to blame Jet Lag ?!
Eric, this reminds me of a very embarrassing thing I said many years ago, also coming directly from a long flight. The people who picked me up at the airport said that they were going to a garage sale. At the time, the idea of garage sales was new and I had never before heard of it, so I asked, “How much does a garage cost?” I felt so stupid when I realized my mistake.

That is also so funny Christer. I think it is great that we can all admit to being part of this silliness, it just make us more human. And to laugh together, well that is a privilege too. Thanks for sharing Christer.
Ha ha, I love that story Eric. And I remember well some of the ‘memorable’ answers to some of the quizzes I’ve watched! ?
This is a fun story, Eric. It made me laugh too! How patient Helen has to be. Great story!
We all need fun in our lives Marianna, and also the ability to laugh at our selves?, there is nothing worse than self importance..
Right you are, Eric!

This Is a hilarious story. They’re indeed not the same plates. I haven’t seen the ‘Time Team’ before. I love archaeology documentary.
Thanks Thompson, if you ever get the chance to see the time team, it will open your eyes to all kinds of knowledge ?.
