Bear’s curled up beside the cave entrance, lulled to sleep by the pouring rain. Arachne swings lazily in her golden web, dreaming spider dreams. Denis is stretched out by the fire, his head in Katya’s lap. Katya strokes his hair. These days are exhilarating, sharing the biggest adventure of her life with her best friend, who is also her husband.

She softly sings him a love song:

“Heart of my heart
Root of my branch
Stem of my flower
I weave myself into your dreams.”

The fire creates a soft pillow of light. Denis stirs slightly, smiling in his sleep.

Wow. Carrie is right, Juma. It is a nice chapter/continuation of your story. It leaves serenity in me. And a very nice love song, very touching.

A peaceful setting Juma, that leaves me feeling everything is right with the world. The poem is a lovely addition to the story.

Your story is wonderfully serene, poetic and peaceful, Juma. Having read the previous parts and your comments, I understand that Katya is changing and that this journey is where she learns to tap into unknown worlds inside herself. Yes, she definitely has a poetic talent.

Why do my friends need to SignIn to read the post I shared?

Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!
