“Honey, let’s put up the Christmas tree,” I heard Mom say.
“Good idea,” smiled Dad. He disappeared into the attic and returned with a box with a picture of a tree on the front. He pulled a small tree from the box.

Mom and Dad made it stand in the corner of the lounge. They covered it in colourful decorations. I nudged it slightly. A bell fell off the branch. I chased after it before anyone could get to it. It makes the mostbeautiful sound,I noticed.

“It’s the little things in life that count, isn’t it?” joked Mom. I looked at her lovingly and carried on playing with my bell.

Look at that beautiful light!I thought. There’s another! There are lights everywhere!I did a happy dance. I believe Mom and Dad feel cheerful too. They are smiling more. There is music playing about sleighs, jingle bells, and something about a boy playing a drum. I like it.’

Mom went into the kitchen. I hope she is getting me a treat! I’m hungry.

The thing I believe is the best of all is the fluffy blue stuff Mom put on the tree.’ I crept closer to get a better view. It feels tingly and is fun to push around. I wonder if I can eat it.‘ I grabbed some and started chewing slowly at first. I’m not sure about the texture. It’s not quite what I expected, but it is fun to chew, nonetheless. Oh no, Mom’s looking. She won’t like this.‘ I chewed faster. She saw me. She is running towards me at a scary speed.‘ I swallowed.

“You can’t eat the tinsel!” exclaimed Mom. We will have no decorations left if you carry on like this! Honey, we will need to make a plan with the Christmas tree!

“Meow,” I said.

It was an amusing and very colorful narration of a Cat about Christmas at their home. At first, I really thought it was a story of a child having a colorful Christmas experience in their home. What a nice twist. It was really a fun read. Well written. A Christmas greeting to you, Marianna.

Yes, we very much still view our pets as our children! I love the little twist at the end! I especially love your photo used for this story, I have a similar color tree in my home at the moment. This is a lovely, and fun Christmassy story. Great work!

Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!
