“It’s running out! Hurry!” I screamed desperately. The others followed me as closely as they could, but not close enough. I felt the heat emanating from its source. The light, bright and intimidating as it was, welcomed me towards it. I’d be swallowed up in no time. I had no idea what would happen to them, or me. The pounding footsteps behind me slowly faded.

I never wanted to leave them. I tried to get them to follow along but it didn’t work out. I told them to believe, to trust, to follow, and they did, but too late.

I was engulfed in light, the rest of the world left behind. My body was taken up and sifted through, now completely saturated with an element that was not known to any other human being.

I wanted to cry but couldn’t. I tried to feel some type of negative emotion, but I couldn’t. I did my best to get the others to follow me, but they waited too long. Now I’m flourishing in my Kingdom of Love. I courageously fought and won the battle. Though nearly defeated, I emerged unscathed. The time had come to jump, and I did…flinging myself into the unknown wonders of the universe.

Hannah, this was a very captivating story. I’m glad your protagonist made it to the Kingdom of Love before it was too late, but at the same time was hoping the others would too. You have created such a beautiful, peaceful picture at the end. Well done.

Why do my friends need to SignIn to read the post I shared?

Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!
