The night was chilly and humid. The same weather it always was on Halloween, which was awful. Why, of all days, would Brad take Chelsey out today? It was anything but romantic.

Brad took Chelsey out to an Italian restaurant. Chelsey hated Italian food, which was even crazier. Why would Brad take his girlfriend somewhere she hates on their anniversary?

When they sat at their table, Brad had a crazy smile. He looked insane, like the people Chelsey worked with at the asylum.

“Chelsey, today is the day.” After Brad said this, he laughed loudly.

“Yeah, our anniversary,” Chelsey replied quietly, feeling the stares of people at neighboring tables.

“No. Today is the day you release me.”

“Release? What are you even talking about?”

It was just now that Chelsey realized Brad’s eyes were dark red instead of his usual sky blue. Brad smiled and his teeth looked slightly sharper than usual.

“For years, I have been under this immortal spell. You can free me by giving me a hug.”

Chelsey had seen enough horror movies to know what was about to happen.

“No,” Chelsey said sternly.

“No?” Brad chuckled and got up from his chair. “Fine. We’re leaving.”

“We only just got here.”

“I don’t want to be here anymore. Let’s go get ice cream instead.”

Despite Brad acting weird, Chelsey followed him. She loved ice cream.

When they got in the car, Brad locked the doors. He laughed loudly, again.

“Brad, what are you doing?” Chelsey asked.

“All I want is a hug.”

Chelsey shook her head, tugging on the door handle. She was afraid Brad was going to hurt her…or worse.

Brad took action. He attacked her, ignoring her blood-curdling screams. Brad took his fangs and dug them deep into Chelseys neck. She shrieked in pain.

A man who heard her screams came over to check on them. When he knocked on the window, Chelsey opened her eyes to look at him. Her eyes were red. The man’s eyes widened and he ran. Based on his reaction, Chelsey knew one thing for sure.

She was a vampire.

Oh! What a tragic anniversary. An anniversary should be a happy celebration, but it turns wrong. It was a horrifying moment for both Brad and Chelsey. I am thinking about who will be their next victim (vampire). Well done.

Why didn’t Chelsey see the red flags- her boyfriend’s red eyes, pointy teeth and strange behaviour- and run away?
Keep on writing Leyla; you obviously have talent and great ideas!

    Sharing a Post

Why do my friends need to SignIn to read the post I shared?

Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!
