Phil Saves the Day
Sunlight dances across the sea. My eyes reach the water before my body. We prefer this less populated beach.
As we reach the sand dune, abundant seagrass waves us forward. “Swim at your own risk, no lifeguard on duty,“ a rusted sign warns.
Phil plants himself. Penny and I are greeted with bubbly foam splashes. The surf invites us to frolic! We wade slowly and methodically.
Minutes later, the familiar whistle blows. “Get out!” Frantically, Phil runs towards us.
Through the binoculars, I see the nurse sharks resting near the reef.
“Who’s your hero, now?!”
“You are!” Cheering in unison.

Thank you voice-team. I most certainly did.
From joyful to panic, vigilant to hero, a funny story, Debbie!

I already love these three character. A great read, Deborah. I can’t wait to read more stories and adventures of their little family.
Lotchie, thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words! I’m fascinated by family dynamics.
