This is my neighborhood. Cows and horses are grazing on the hills in front of me. At the horizon, I have the Andes Mountains. I am often accompanied by my dogs, Nina and Cleo, my cat Grok, and a variety of birds in the almond tree on my right side.

You are right, Brigitta. I feel very lucky to be where I am, and to be able to do what I have longed to do all those years in the past. I love the balcony and the view it provides!
Christer, you are very lucky to have such a beautiful view. No wonder you are inspired to write.

Yes, it’s a wonderful place, and yet the photo cannot communicate the view very well, neither the bird song and other, subtle things. It’s a great place for writing. I keep saying that it’s the best office space in the world.
I could sink into that armchair and look out on that view all day Christer. A writer’s dream and a picture that says so much.
A writer’s dream! Yes, Linda, that’s exactly how I feel. As for the armchair, I would like for all my new Voice.club friends to come and sit down in that armchair, one by one, day after day, to talk about writing and inspiration. Wouldn’t that be nice!?

Thank you, Melissa! Yes, this is where I enjoy meeting with all you guys at Voice.club via our stories. And at this same place, I also spend time trying to write down stories and memories from my life, which has taken many surprising turns.
Let’s be a little philosophical Christer, I don’t think this is all down to luck. It’s choices, and I guess you have made difficult ones along the path to be where you are now – is this the reward?

To Leave Comments - Please SignIn with GoogleThanks for the interesting philosophy, Eric. I agree that we always make choices which lead to specific situations. (And yes, you are quite right, I have made some tough choices in my life, where few people understood and supported me.) But then again, sometimes opportunities show up unexpectedly and miraculously, which can be seen as gifts from the unknown. It is our choice to act on them or not; if we prefer… Read more »
I do understand you Christer. I see you call the gifts you mention, as coming from the unknown, I would call it, from the Universe of infinite wisdom. And opportunities appear when we change our thinking (perception) seeking answers!
Anyhow Christer, Thank you for the exchange of thoughts and openness. I enjoyed our chat.
Your view looks amazing. I would love to live somewhere like that. You are just in the middle of nature.

I have beautiful nature all around me, mountains in the background and a lot of nature sounds of birds, cows, horses and dogs within hearing distance. The most exotic animal that I see here is iguanas. They sometimes come to eat some yellow flowers that grow in my yard and look as though they appear from prehistoric times. They allow me to come pretty close and pose for… Read more »
Wow! What a nice view. A good catalyst for writing. I long for an ambience as such. Lucky you.
It’s the best imaginable office place, Thompson! At last, being retired, I long to get to work every morning when I wake up.
