Cape Town is commonly known as the Cape of Good Hope, but also as the Cape of Storms.
After storms in various areas in the Western Cape this week, it only makes sense that the weather is so grey and overcast.
The clouds are completely covering Table Mountain.

You’d climb up the mountain in clear weather and sunshine, and then the cloud would roll in and the world would disappear. It was even more strange when you were standing at the top of the mountain and you were above the cloud cover!
Carrie, I remember being in the cable car going up the alps in Switzerland many years ago and that feeling of absolute awe when the car came out above the clouds. It was spectacular.
Those clouds are stunning Marianna. I always loved looking at clouds from a plane’s window, they look just like cotton wool. You have taken an amazing photograph.

Those clouds look so low Marianna, and yet the homes seem to be clear. Do the homes ever get covered by the clouds?
Eric, I actually looked it up, because I cannot remember ever seeing the cloud covering the houses. Apparently it has something to do with the colder air higher up on the mountain where the clouds form, but lower down where the air is warmer, the clouds evaporate, so it never covers the houses. It is beautiful to see. You can sit and watch the clouds rolling over the mountain. Stunning.

Hi Daisy, I happened to do a photoshoot of an apartment and it has a stunning view of Table Mountain. It was an overcast day and I guess it was just being at the right place at the right time 🙂
The view of Table Mountain was indeed stunning ?
