Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!

You have an artist’s eye for a good picture, Daisy. What are the patterns on the two large rocks? At first I thought those were fossilized wood, but I’m not sure. Can you tell us a bit about them?
I don’t know very much about them, however I do know that it was once a large rock. It has been cracked in half and someone decided to carve into it. The last time I went to Derwent Water they were still there (this was a little less than a year ago).

Thank you Fuji. It continues to fascinate me as well.
What a beautiful place and I love what you’ve written to describe it! The repetition fits well.
