Actually, this is a voting security feature. During public voting, only club members can read posts submitted for that contest. Since anyone reading the story is able to vote (click the Like button), we reserve these capabilities to members who SignIn. Before we implemented this security feature, people were voting multiple times and making the public voting process unfair and out of balance. To fix this, our staff finally decided to allow only members who SignIn to read the stories. Membership is free and easy, and ensures our club is safe, secure, and family-friendly!

The first paragraphs are amazing! They paint a clear and beautiful scene that intrigues the reader.
Thank you, Katy! In my mind I had such a clear picture I almost felt like I was there and could feel Kathy’s joy when she was able to give the children something special. One of the joys of writing 🙂 Thank you very much for the feedback!
The analogy between the apple tree and Harry is intriguing. A smart plot!
Thank you, Leena. I was able to combine my love of sewing, gardening and writing in this and it felt very satisfying. Thank you very much for the feedback; I do appreciate it 🙂
Kathy had such an amazing way to keep Harry’s memories alive. Loved the way you have painted the loving character in Kathy.

Thank you, musing mind! Yes, I really like Kathy…I would love her for a neighbour or a friend 🙂 Thank you for the feedback; it’s lovely to wake up (here in Australia) and find someone has read and enjoyed something I’ve written. Sets the day up nicely 🙂
Finished off nicely with the good idea of the fabric apples.
I have many pieces of recycled fabric in my sewing pile that are filled with memories and I think they helped to trigger the idea for the story. Perhaps one day I’ll do something with them!
Thank you for the feedback 🙂
A lovely story of love, loss and remembrance.
Thank you, Carrie. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂

I love how Kathy uses the apple tree as a remembrance for Harry. What a nice story and a nice plot. Thank you for sharing.
